Frequently Asked Questions
How long is my car likely to take to sell?
There is no easy answer to this. Our fastest ever sale was 14 minutes after going online (the customer phoned immediately and placed a deposit on the car before seeing it!). Many cars sell within a week and the majority of cars sell in 2 to 4 weeks, but sometimes sales can take two or three months. However, if we get the pricing right and the car is in good order then we’d certainly hope that it would sell much faster than that.
How much does it cost to have my car collected?
If you need us to, we can arrange collection of your car a fee of £30 + £1.50 per mile. These are the fees we have to pay ourselves, so we just pass these on to you. We can collect cars with expired MOTs if need be.
What if I change my mind and want my car back?
No problem - the car is still yours. We will however need to charge you for our expenses plus a £100 logistics fee to cover the time we have invested in preparing the car. If the preparation has not yet started, then we will not charge you any fee.
What if I find a buyer myself?
Having invested time and money into preparing the car, we will still need to charge a fee, but we will halve our usual selling fee - after all, you did half the job!
What if the car develops a mechanical fault while in your charge?
In this instance we will seek your authority to have the repairs completed at trade rates. These costs will be deducted from the sale money once it is received. Alternatively, you can of course make arrangements to have the faults rectified yourself. Although we’ll get them sorted for you, we cannot be held responsible for any faults which develop pre-sale: used cars develop faults from time to time through wear and tear.
What if, even after you sell my car, I’m unhappy with the service I’ve received?
It’s never happened, but if for some reason you were unhappy with our service then we would not charge you for it. That requires a lot of trust on our part, but we believe that if you treat people well, (most) people will do right by you as well. So it’s a chance we are willing to take.
