There are a great number of people who need cars on a limited budget, and if we can provide these people with safe, reliable vehicles then we are pleased to do so. However, we cannot prepare cars quite as fully and still ensure you get a reasonable amount of money, so we have a slightly different model for cars which will go on sale for less than £1,000. 

We still require a mechanical report and PDI (a 'pre-delivery inspection' checking and topping up levels etc.) and we will complete a road test to be sure the car is safe and to inform the buyer of any issues which might entail short- or mid-term repair bills. We also insist that the car is clean, so if need be we will need to deduct valeting costs. However, we will take your car with a minimum of 7 months MOT and we will not insist on the cam belt service if due - although we will of course need to explain this to any potential buyer. Nor will we purchase a warranty for cars of this value. These services remain available to the buyer, but we don’t think it’s reasonable that you have to fund them out of the limited amount you will get for your car.

Once these (reduced) costs have been deducted we will then split the remainder of the price we get for the car 50/50 with you. We guarantee that we won’t ever charge any more than the fee we usually charge for our sale service (even if we've helped to prepare it), but if for example your car makes £400 after costs, we will only charge £200 for our work. We offer this service because in our experience other people will offer you £50 for the car or what they'll tell you is scrap value and that just isn’t right. At the same time there are a lot of people who desperately need a car and have very limited funds to purchase one. As long as they fully understand that due to the sale price we are not able to supply the car with our usual levels of preparation, then we think that is fair and, while perhaps not ideal, helpful for both them and you.
